Streetcars, unless they have their own dedicated lane, are terrible, and you are terrible if you like them. Take the fact that busses have to stop at every light and deal with traffic and add the ability of trains to be stuck on tracks, and you have a crap mode of transportation. Unless they have their own lane. Then they’re cool.

But streetcars have higher capacity than buses, and use less energy per passenger. So even if they’re stuck in the same traffic, they’re moving people more efficiently.
But then you have trolleybuses... which are like streetcars but also like buses.

Sorry, but having spent significant amounts of my life driving in Philadelphia, there is absolutely no scenario in which I wouldn’t prefer to share the road with a trolley over a bus.

But subtract the fact that you know exactly what they’re going to do, every time. Unlike a bus, which does whatever the hell they want and will tell you to go fuck yourself if you get hit in the process.

My complaints are as a passenger, not a driver. The first tip to driving around streetcars is don’t drive downtown.
